Overview
directly within the repair event. The MOTOR connector provides real-world labor time
data for the most commonly performed service operations, allowing service advisors
to build more accurate estimates without leaving the case.
integration delivers this data through MOTOR Data as a Service (DaaS), supporting
light-duty vehicles from 1985 and medium- and heavy-duty vehicles from 1989,
covering Classes 1 through 8 for the U.S. market.
Selecting MOTOR as the Operation Source
In the Operations section of the repair event, use the Source dropdown to select
MOTOR.
Vehicle information — including year, make, and model — is passed directly from the
case to the MOTOR lookup, so no re-entry is required.
Searching for Operations
With MOTOR selected as the source, enter a search term in the search field. Results
appear inline as you type, displaying the operation name and labor time for each
match.
For medium and heavy-duty vehicles, operations are mapped to VMRS codes,
allowing searches at the system, assembly, and component levels. Select the correct
operation from the results.
Adding Operations to the Case
Click an operation from the search results to add it to the estimate. Additional
operations can be searched and added as needed.
MOTOR operations are identified in the estimate with the MOTOR (M) icon in the Info
column.
Editing MOTOR Operations
Each MOTOR operation is VMRS encoded. The VMRS coding, including System
Group, System, Assembly, and Component, is visible when editing the operation.
