The following features or enhancements have been added to the Builder application for all users.
- Character Limit Removed for Weblinks
- Checkbox Added for Calculating Price on Fixed Total Price Operations
- Improvements Made to Import Process
Character Limit Removed for Weblinks
URLs can get long, but you shouldn't have to worry about that. So we removed the character limit on weblinks to allow you to add any URL to an operation regardless of how long it is.
Checkbox Added for Calculating Price on Fixed Total Price Operations
We added a checkbox to the Operation Details page for operations with a Fixed Total Price. This checkbox, called "Calculate tax for amount?", appears when you enter a value for the Fixed Total Price.
If checked, when a user adds this operation to an estimate in Case, the system will look to see if a Sales Tax has been set for Fixed Price Operations at that location. If there is, the system will apply the Sales Tax to the operation.
If unchecked, the Fixed Total Price for the operation will appear on the estimate exactly as it's entered in Builder without a Sales Tax added to it.
Improvements Made to Import Process
Parts Import Increased to 100 Per Variation
When you import or export a CSV of operations and their variations to and from Builder, the file can now include up to 100 parts per variation. Previously, the CSV file could only include up to 8 parts per variation.
Allowing up to 100 parts per variation ensures the CSV file will include all the parts associated with the variations and the complete details of the operation being imported or exported.
Decisiv Opcode Column Added to Import File for Updating Operations
The key identifier for an operation in Builder has changed from the Operation Name to the Opcode assigned to the operation when it was created.
If you need to update multiple operations or variations in Builder, you can use the new Decisiv Opcode column in your CSV file to identify the operations and variations that need to be updated.
Using the Decisiv Opcode instead of the Operation Name ensures more accurate mass updates and allows you to easily update operations with the same name but different attributes.
In your import file:
- If you include a Decisiv Opcode for an operation that matches an existing operation, it will update the existing operation with the new information in your import file.
- If you do not include a Decisiv Opcode for an operation in your import file, it will create a new operation in Builder.
- If you include a Decisiv Opcode that does not match an existing operation, it will return an error.
Variation Name Replaced with Variation ID
The key identifier for an operation variation has changed from the Variation Name to the Variation ID assigned to the variation when it was created.
The field for Variation Name has been removed from the system, the Builder Importer will now accept Variation ID instead of Variation Name to update a variation, and the Builder Exporter will now export the Variation ID instead of Variation Name for a variation.
This is to allow for more accurate mass updates when needed and the ability to support variations with the same name but with different attributes, similar to the Decisiv Opcode field for operations mentioned above in Decisiv Opcode Column Added to Import File for Updating Operations.
Validations Added for Labor Time
When you include a Labor Time for a variation in your CSV import file, Builder will now validate that value before allowing the import to occur.
The Labor Time value can only consist of up to 7 numeric values (0-9). This value can be positive or negative and include a decimal if needed.
If the Labor Time value in the CSV does not meet this criteria, the import will report an error.
