For the Case V8.42.0 Release, targeted for July 17th, we're planning the following improvements.
Enhancements:
- Registered Fleet Assets | Releasing or transferring an asset out of a Registered Fleet no longer automatically closes any case currently open against that asset.
- Asset Location - All Cases | Building on the On-Site Asset Location field introduced in v8.38.0, we've extended this visibility directly into the Cases screen, giving your team a faster way to see where assets are located without opening each case.
Case V8.42.0:
Releasing Registered Fleet Assets
Previously, releasing an asset from a Registered Fleet (in some cases) triggered an automatic closure of any open case tied to that asset. Going forward, asset release/transfer actions are decoupled from case closure entirely.
Why This Matters:
Dealers and brokers often have unfinished work — invoicing, parts orders, etc. — tied to an open case at the time an asset is released. Auto-closing the case removed visibility into that work before it was actually complete. This change ensures case status reflects real work status, not just fleet assignment.
Asset Location - All Cases
Building on the On-Site Asset Location field introduced in v8.38.0, we've extended this visibility directly into the Cases screen, giving your team a faster way to see where assets are located without opening each individual case.
What's new:
- A new On-Site Asset Location column is now available across the All Cases, My Cases, and Watching tabs.
- The column is sortable, letting you organize cases by asset location at a glance.
- Fully configurable through table settings — hide the column or reorder it to fit your workflow, and your preferences are saved for next time.
- Included in .xlsx downloads, so location data travels with your exported case data.
- By default, the column appears as the last column in the table and is visible automatically if your organization has the On-Site Asset Location feature enabled. If you choose to hide it, we'll remember that preference.
Why This Matters:
Seeing asset location right from the Cases list — without drilling into individual work items — helps your team prioritize, coordinate handoffs, and manage multi-bay or multi-yard operations more efficiently.
